St Joan of Arc Paperweight by F Cian
A French antique Art Nouveau reigious paperweight made of white marble. The early 20th century religious piece features a beautiful portrait of Saint Joan of Arc. It has been signed by the artist F.Cian: for Fernando Ciancianaini or Fernand Cian. Born in Carrara in 1889, the sculptor studied and worked in Paris under Laporte Blairsy. He lived in Torbole on Lake Garda for many years, where his figures in terracotta still adorn the Church of the Madonna delle Vittorie as well as numerous public squares in the area. He died in 1954.
CONDITION: overall ood antique condition with some normal signs of ages like a small splinter on the rim.
