Rococo Gilded Pediment
A beautiful antique French carved wood pediment dating from the middle of the 19th century, circa 1850. This architectural mount has a gorgeous central shell surrounded by acanthus leaves. The pediment is beautifully gilded on gesso. The gilding has subtle hints of the red bole base.
Condition: It has had some worm over the years. Some gilded splinters. Repairs. One piece has been broken and stuck back. Please take a close look at the photos.
