Large Saphiret Cross Pendant
A beautiful and rare antique saphiret glass cross dating to the early 20th century. Sixty five Saphiret stones make up this cross, set on a silverplated brass cross. It is very rare to find a saphiret cross pendant with so many spahiret beads. The lovely loop is in the shape of a flower. Stones measure approximately 3 mm for the smallest to 7mm for the biggest.
As you can see on the detailed photos, the color is gorgeous and is changing with the light. I took the cross under lights inside and under natural light outisde.
Saphiret was made by adding real gold to sapphire colored molten glass during the late 1800's to mid 1900's. This created this so beautiful color from a mocha or pinkish brown to a soft blue.
Condition: Quite good condition with some normal signs of ages on the metal set. Only one spahiret is missing. Please take a close look at the photos, they are an integral part of the description.
Height with the loop: 3 1/2" (8.8cm)
Width: 2" (5cm)
