Menton Majolica Plate
A magnificent French antique majolica plate made by Perret Gentil in Menton. The colorful turquoise plate features a trompe l'oeil decor of lemon with pendant flowering and fruiting citrus branches. The glaze is amazing.
The reverse is black painted initials P.G M for Perret-Gentil of Menton, circa 1900. His production is referenced in the book "Barbotines de la cote d'azur" by Maryse Bottero.
