Saint Ann Statue
A beautiful Art Deco French religious statue created by Emile-Just Bachelet (1892-1981) (sculptor) and Henriot Quimper pottery manufacture. The figurine depicts Saint Ann teaching to read to young Virgin Mary. Beautiful colors !
Emile Just Bachet was a French sculptor of the 20th Century. He studied at the École des beaux-arts de Nancy where he was a student of Jules Larcher for drawing and Ernest Bussière for sculpture.
Based in Paris on rue Campagne-Première, he took part in the Salon des artistes français from 1920 and won the competition for the construction of the monument of La Fontenelle in the Vosges. He strengthened his reputation in Lorraine and won many competitions in the region.
It has been Signed Henriot Quimper EJB inside.
Condition: one crack on the right side.
