A beautiful antique French wall reliquary dating to the late 19th century. The relic a of Blessed Marguerite-Marie Alacoque who lived in the 17th century, is a piece of the hazel tree (noisetier) of the place of the apparition of Jesus to the sister Margaret Mary Alacoque. It is protected by a convex glass pane and surrounded by a black wooden frame. It is sealed with a ribbon and two red seals. Jesus Christ appeared to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque in 1675 in Paray-le-Monial (France). St. Margaret Mary Alacoque is the patron saint of devotees of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Beatified in 1864, she was canonized in 1920.
