St Thomas Rosary
A beautiful antique Jerusalem pilgrimage souvenir rosary dating to the late 19th century. It is made of 53 seed beads and 5 mother of pearl beads. At the end, the rosary shows a large medal made of carved mother of pearl and depicting Saint Thomas the Apostle. "Shells such as this one, were sold to Christian pilgrims in Jerusalem and Bethlehem, where they were carved in relief and pierced by hand by local Palestinian craftsmen."
