Olympiads Carved Wood Door
Beautiful French antique hand carved walnut wood door dating to the late 19th century. The deep and three dimensional carving features three horses-drawn chariot driven by a woman standing and holding a torch. There is what look like a temple on the background. This carving refers to the Greek olympiads, at the origin of the modern Olympic games.
Warm patina. The sculpture has been finely hand carved. This salvaged buffet door could be used in may ways: wall decorative panel as a genuine work of art, painted, cabinet door etc
