St Joan of Arc's Life Plates
A beautiful antique French set of nine white and black transferware plate manufactured by the world-renowned Digoin Sarreguemines ceramic company, dating to the late 1800s. The wall plates depicts Saint Joan of Arc's life. The rim is finely ornated.

_ Arrivée à Chinon, elle se jette aux pieds du Dauphin, et lui fait part de la mission de le faire sacré Roi / Arriving in Chinon, she throws herself at the feet of the successor, and tells him of the mission to make him crowned King.
_ Le père de Jeanne D'arc vient la trouver à Reims après le sacre du Roy / Joan of Arc's father comes to find her in Reims after the coronation of the King.
_ Après la cérémonie du sacre Jeanne d'Arc se jette aux pieds du Roy Charles VII et lui demande la permission de se retirer / After the coronation ceremony Joan of Arc throws herself at the feet of King Charles VII and asks his permission to retire.
_ A peine entrée dans Orléans, Jeanne d'Arc donne l'assaut à la Bastille St Augustin et s'en empare / As soon as she entered Orleans, Joan of Arc stormed the Bastille of St. Augustine and seized it.

This wall decorative "talking" plates tell Saint Joan of Arc's life. They have been stamped with the Digoin Sarreguemines manufacturer's marks.
Please take a close look at the photos, they are an integral part of the description. Overall good antique condition with some normal signs of ages. Two plates have a chip and two have a hairline.
