This an antique French sculpture made of terra cotta, signed Hartmann. It features the young Bernadette Soubirous represented as a shepherdess dressed in the traditional Bigourdan costume. She is depicted sitting, guarding her flock, with her favorite little sheep at her feet, holding her rosary, reciting and meditating it, leaning her head against her arm.
Please take a close look at the photos, they are an integral part of the description. The statue is in good antique condition with some normal signs of ages, to note a splinter on Bernadette's veil.
