Charming antique French curtain holdbacks dating to the late 19th century. The Victorian gilt bronze curtain holders features a caduceus: a short laurel staff entwined by two serpents, surmounted by wings. The caduceus is the staff carried by Hermes in Greek mythology. Nowadays, it is a symbol for medicine. Very rare design, hard to find ! Do not miss it ! This pair of wall hooks would be perfect to hold back curtains but also could be used as coat racks.
