A rare antique French majolica wall plate dating to the late 19th century. It depicts a medallion in bas relief featuring a mythological picture with Muses and Cupid. I guess it was made after a painting of Venus and Aeneas. It is enhaced by a yellow edge surounded by a beautiful cobalt blue rim. It is the perfect piece to add a touch of neoclassicism in your home.
It has been produced by Choisy le Roi (1804-1938) founded by three brothers in the early 19th century/
