E Bourgeois Paris Soup Plate
Beautiful French antique plate. 9 1/2 inches diameter, they were made for dinner to eat soup or a sauce dinner like a Beef Bourguignon. The charming blue transferware decor features printed underglaze flowers and Louis XV style motifs all around the rim. Magnificent cabinet plate.
The vintage white and blue plate bears a red mark on the back: Faiences Porcelaine Cristaux / grand depot, E Bourgeois Paris et Marseilles. The great Emile Bourgeois (1832-1926) warehouse was founded in 1863 and was the largest house in the world for tableware, dessert and crystal services. The last photo shows the boutique where the plate has been sold more than 100 years old ago.
CONDITION: Good condition for age and type. Some normals signs of ages like some light stains on the ironstone, wears on the edges.
