A rare 19th century medal depicting Mater Dolorosa. The reverse depicts Jesus Christ in front of an angel holding a chalice. This unusual brass pendant has been dated 1862. It displays the following words:
"Mon Père s'il est possible que ce chalice s'éloigne de moi", "Paix de l'Eglise", "1862", conservation de la Foi"
"My Father if it is possible that this chalice goes away from me", "Peace of the Church", "1862", Conservation of the Faith"
"Cependant sur votre volonté soit faite et non la mienne", "Confession des Mourants", "cessation des fléaux" ""Yet your will be done and not mine", "Confession of the Dying", "cessation of plagues".
