This is a large and stunning copper cradle medallion depicting Madonna and child surrounding by angels in a modernist manner. It was made by the engraver Fernand Py ( 1887-1949). The outside border is signed Py. The reverse has been engraved with the name Albin-Claude and the date 26th October 1949.
This medallion used to be used by mother to protect their little children and mother used to hang the protector medal on the crib of their baby. This antique crib protector medal would be a great birth gift.
