This is an antique French copper lidded pie dish called "tourtiere" in French from the eighteenth century. A "tourtiere" is a circular covered container used to braise or bake pie. The handles and feet are made of cast iron and are solidly held on with rivets. And the copper is dovetailed: signs of quality and lifespan. A similar piece is visible in the French museum of Caen. This stunning French pie dish will add to your kitchen a traditionnal touch of the French gastronomy.
