Beautiful French antique set of seven plates. 8 1/2 inches diameter, they were made for cake and cookies or when serving salads or appetizers. In France, there are also perfect to eat cheese. The charming blue transferware decor features printed underglaze flowers and Louis XV style motifs all around the rim. They're fabulous small plates you'll enjoy using. Not just cabinet plates, this set will take you from informal to formal table settings in style.
All vintage white and blue plate bear a red mark on the back: Faiences Porcelaine Cristaux / grand depot, E Bourgeois Paris et Marseilles. The great Emile Bourgeois (1832-1926) warehouse was founded in 1863 and was the largest house in the world for tableware, dessert and crystal services. The last photo shows the boutique where this set of plates have been sold more than 100 years old ago.
CONDITION: Good condition for age and type. The color can change from a plate to another. Some normals signs of ages like some light stains on the ironstone, wears on the edges.
