La France appelle les Nations Medal
La France appelle les Nations Medal
A beautiful vintage religious pendant dating to the 1900's. The silver-plated medal depicts an allegory of France: a crowned woman raising her arms, topped by the radiant sacred heart of Jesus with the city of Paray le Monial in the background (1900, La France appelle les Nations à party-Le-Monial / France calls the Nations to Paray-Le-Monial). The reverse features the apparition of Jesus Christ to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque in 1675 (je règnerai malgré mes ennemis / I will reign despite my enemies). St. Margaret Mary Alacoque is the patron saint of devotees of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
It has been engraved and signed by the engravers Penin Poncet.
