A rare antique religious medal dating to the early 20th century. The pendant finely depicts the portrait of the Blessed Agnes of Langeac. Agnes of Jesus (1602 - 1634), was a Dominican nun renowned for her charity and virtues. Blessed by the Catholic Church, she is celebrated on October 19. She is invoked for difficult births. She rests in the church of the monastery of Saint Catherine in Langeac.
The medal floats from a new 18k gold-plated serpentine chain measuring 20 inches (50cm) long.
