A vintage hand-blown glass vase from the middle of the 20th century. "Scavo" style, of Venetian art. Scavo means "to unearth" and imitates antique objects in shape and texture to those found in archaeological excavations. A special corrosive chemical is used on the surface of the glass piece to dissolve some of the finish and give it an etched or corroded appearance. This technique was invented by Alfredo Barbini and Cenedese in the 1950s. Later, in the 70s, the technique was taken up by Seguso Vetri d'Arte.
This cobalt blue vase is iridescent and was made according to the technique of Scavo, could be attributed to Seguso Vetri d'Arte. Its beautiful size made this vase fit all home interior style. Handmade in Italy.
CONDITION: Good vintage condition, no chips, no splinters, no cracks.
