A charming French vintage pitcher dating to the mid-twentieth century. The glazed ceramic ricard jug has been hand decorated with traditional pattern of the Provence region in France and features a beautiful cicada figurine. It was produced by the famous manufacture Sicard founded by Louis Sicard in 1926. Louis Sicard was a talented artist, ceramist and sculptor famous because he was the first who created the famous cicada figurine in 1895.
The pitcher bears the Sicard stamp.
Truly attractive piece, wonderful yellow color that would add South French accents to your decoration. Please take a close look at the photos, they are an integral part of the description, no chips, no cracks. Good condition, only an original crack near the handle.
