A rare French antique medal of the patron saint of missionaries, Saint Francis Xavier. "St. Francis Xavier, Spanish San Francisco Javier or Xavier, (1506-1552), is the greatest Roman Catholic missionary of modern times who was instrumental in the establishment of Christianity in India, the Malay Archipelago, and Japan. In Paris in 1534 he pronounced vows as one of the first seven members of the Society of Jesus, or Jesuits, under the leadership of St. Ignatius of Loyola."
The reverse is beautiful. The cross is surrounding by the Latine sentence:
"Laudate Dominum omnes gentes"
"Praise the Lord, all nations"
On the bottom, there are the French words:
"Propagation de la Foi"
"Propagation of Faith"
Good antique condition with some normal signs of age. Please take a close look at the photos.
