This is a superb staircase post finial or furniture finial made of wood, dating to the late 19th century. Its designs displays an elegant simplicity. This hand turned finial can be used on top of a newel post at the foot of a staircase. It originally was on a large French buffet.
Overall good antique condition with some normal traces of ages and an antique patina. It has been broken at the bottom. Please take a close look at the photos, they are an integral part of the description.
