Beautiful French antique sugar sifter spoon dating to the late 19th century. Gorgeous design. French sterling silver hallmark on the handle (Minerva's Head). The diamond hallmark is the silversmith's hallmark: letters HT with a star. On the back on the handle, it used to be the monogram of the first owner but is almost completely erased.
"Sugar sifter spoons first appeared in 1770. They were designed to be used at the table during dessert. The spoon transfers powdered sugar from the sugar bowl onto fruit, puddings, or cakes."
Please take a close look at the photos, they are an integral part of the description.
Overall good antique condition with some normal signs of ages like light scratches.
Length: 8 1/4" (21cm)
Weight: 60g
